isnt the akira just an upside down nx.. or vice versa 0  out of 4 found this valuable. Do you?

It's vice versa. Doug Drexler, head of the FX team that created NX-01 for Enterprise, liked Alex Jaegar's 1996 sketches of the Akira class for First Contact. Drexler admittedly "got lazy" when designing the NX-01 and used a lot of the elements of the Akira in the design.
