General Overview: The Peregrine Class Starship was originally designed to be a light escort vessel or courier for use on diplomatic missions in potential war situations. Prominently found along boarder colonies with hostile neighbors and used in escort missions the Peregrine class has proven itself to be a fast and manouverable vessel which hold a fair amount of firepower for a ship its size. More recently though the ship has been used by the Maquis in skirmishes with the Cardassians and has become something of an embarrassment to the Federation. This class of ship has featured heavily in the recent Dominion war.
