Greetings. My name is Dave Lowe. I am the moderator and editor of the Akira Class Technical Manual. I started this site with the goal of collecting the largest amount of data on the Akira class starship. It has grown tremendously. Much of the data has been gleaned from countless sources from all over the Internet. I hate to admit it, but most of the collection, formatting, and editing has been done by yours truly.

That's not from lack of trying. This site, in it's current form, went live Sunday June 12, 2005 and from that point I started soliciting for contributions. So far, I have had no takers. Previous incarnations of the Technical Manual have been attempted, but the current Wiki style is by far the best. In December of 2006, I moved the site to Wetpaint and have been very happy with the software. Far more clean than the previous site (which ran TikiWiki) and I like the WYSIWYG editing. No more Wiki markup!

A little about me, I am the captain of the online fan club, Deep Space Two,a correspondence chapter of STARFLEET, the International Star Trek Fan Association. Guinness Book of World Records lists STARFLEET as the largest science fiction fan club with nearly 4000 members worldwide. They have been in existence since 1974.

I am a huge Star Trek fan, and a large fan of "Treknology," which is why I assembled this collection, in honor of my favorite class of starship in the Star Trek universe.

Sorry, but I was editing some work, and one of you pages seems to have been deleted in the process. The Weapons Pod page.

Awfully sorry. I can't seem to be able to resurrect it!
